INFORMATION

Prefinished Domestic Hardwood's finish has been applied in the factory.

A combination of urethane and aluminum oxide is applied to the milled hardwood in a series of steps. Multiple coats are applied, and they are dried quickly after their application. If there is a stain, it is put on first and then top-coated with the urethane and aluminum oxide.

There is also a UV resistance added to this coating to prevent discoloration over time, along with an anti-microbial agent to minimize bacterial growth on the finished surface.

Advantages of Prefinished Hardwood Flooring:
  1. Floor is ready to be walked on right after its installation
  2. Finish is more consistent due to a factory application, with stains appearing less splotchy
  3. Finish is harder due to the presence of aluminum oxide, providing for a longer lasting and more durable surface
  4. Installer error is minimized
  5. Odorous finishes and sanding dust are avoided
